Southern Sky has a fleet of modern safari vehicles
adapted for Kenya roads with comfortable seats, lifting hatches for game
viewing and heavy-duty shock absorbers
The most comfortable safari vehicle is the Minibus. Its unique design with
all 4 wheels at the far corner and with strengthened suspension provides
the most space for passengers and the best ride comfort over rough dirt
roads. The pop-up roof ensures that you have unobstructed game viewing once
inside a park. Southern Sky also operate 4X4 safari prepared Landcruisers.
Air conditioning seldom lasts in our rough dusty conditions. You really
need to forget the saloon comforts of home when on the road in Kenya.
Southern Sky has a policy of not hiring vehicles from private sources but
only uses its own vehicles as a matter of quality control. This may be
waived for special bookings. Our transport set up is shown below:
• 45 seat passenger transfer coaches with air conditioning, equipped with
tour leader seat, TV screen, water cooler and public address.
• 18-21 seat passenger transfer and excursion buses all with air
conditioning.
• 9 seat safari minibuses for a maximum of 8 clients when on safari.
• 7 and 9 seat 4X4 all weather utility vehicles for a maximum of 6 or 8
passengers.
• All safari vehicles are adapted for the safari circuit and include:
long-range HF radios for security, lap safety belts, two spare wheels,
cooler box, first aid kits, binoculars, wild life reference guidebooks and
maps.
• Own strategically located workshop with HF radio and dedicated in-house
preventative maintenance programmes.
All vehicles serviced and maintained with computerised records.
